These works in East Grinstead were started by our experienced team of landscape gardeners in early January 2007. The customer had to remove their array of Christmas lights for us to begin straight after the Christmas break. A lot to dig out, we are to push the garden back into the bank and to allow space for a large conservatory.

When Ian viewed the garden was as below:-

We came up with a few ideas after a consultation, all very roughly drawn, as to begin with we were only talking possibilities. Existing patio was very tied, it was at dpc level, needed lowering plus you felt trapped in the patio! The garden was too close and too high in relation to the house. It was worth losing some of the lawn

Works began rapidly in January 2007, we need a fairly large digger and dumper. Approx 140m³ had to be dug out through a narrow access and removed. We used grab lorries continually picking up! All out in under a week! Well done lads! It was quite an excersise! In all weathers!!

As soon as dug out, drainage was sorted and the concrete base laid... footings went in and walling went up. Within 3 weeks most of the walls and steps were built!! Even with all the rain and snow which was thrown at us!!

Thanks for the invoice for the final payment, thought I'd let you know the cheque will be on it's way to you tomorrow.

We'd like to say a huge thanks to all involved, especially obviously Pete and Wes. They've worked tirelessly through all extremes of weather and done a really great job. We're left with a very useable garden which we and the children love. They were playing out there at every available opportunity when we had those two weeks of lovely weather (was that our summer I wonder?). They've always cleared away and kept the mess to an absolute minimum. We can't believe how green the front looks now after all those months of mud, mud and mud!!!! We'd have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone thinking of doing the same thing.
