Rockeries are very personal. I remember my mentor Cyril, telling me some 20 years ago that it takes a good 30 years before you can build a real rockery. They certainly are not easy to explain how to create. They have to appear as natural outcrops out of the bank. Once started I can tell you each piece of stone tells you where it is to be placed...

I must remember to take a few more rockery photos! Below are a couple of photos of a rockery I recently completed in Ovingdean followed by a york stone rockery completed by Peter in Horsham. I will add a few more photos to this page in the next few weeks. I will try and take a few once planted out,as this really brings the stone alive.
