Newick Tobermore Driveway Project September 2012

These works were started in Mid September 2012 by Peter & Ian for customers we had previously completed a large rear patio for many years ago.

The existing drive was a mixture of concrete and gravel and the aim was to create a solid tight fitting block driveway. We researched considerably and the Tobermore range were very dense, made of granite chippings, were very accurately made, tight fitting and keep their colour. Tobermore products in the UK are not coomon, but Parkers from Haywards Heath stock and supplied us efficiently.

This is the Tobermore Shannon we are using on this project

Well firmed

New drainage in

Pouring of concrete with Mixamate

Our track barrow was very useful

Weak mix was well compacted

Not much more to lay

We are now laying blocks

Laid to a brick edge

Again using our barrow

Plenty more Sharp sand needed

We progress steadily

A good half completed

Frontage going in

Lots of cutting still to do

Looking Good!

Nice neat cuts along the edges

Blocks tightly fit.

First car on the drive!

Children want to get on their bikes

All dressed with kiln dried sand

Now fully complete!
